Section 58

If there is a credible reason that this Act has been violated in relation to any forest produce, any forest employee or police officer may seize such forest produce and weapons, sticks, vehicles and quadrupeds related to the offence.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the employee who takes possession shall open the details of the seized goods, give compensation to the person concerned with the crime, mark such goods with a special mark and measure and submit a report to the Sub Divisional Office or the Divisional Forest Office.
(3) In accordance with sub-section (1), tools, weapons, sticks, vehicles, quadrupeds, etc. seized as per sub-section (1) shall be filed on the specified day and place, with a bond to the owner or member of the relevant village or municipality or a local official, at least a second class forest assistant under the gazette. Employees up to the rank can give away such goods.
